Sumida River Fireworks Festival 2025 is set to light up Tokyo’s summer sky on Saturday, July 26, along the scenic banks of the Sumida River. As one of Japan’s most iconic fireworks displays, this spectacular event features around 20,000 fireworks launched from two main sites: one stretching from below Sakurabashi to upstream of Kototoibashi, and the other from below Komagatabashi to upstream of Umayabashi. At the first site, don’t miss the prestigious National Fireworks Competition, where top pyrotechnic artists showcase their skills in a breathtaking display of artistry and technique. With its rich history and massive scale, this free-admission event draws crowds from across the country, offering a quintessential Tokyo summer experience. Please note the event may be canceled in case of severe weather.
