Tokyo Marathon 2025

The Tokyo Marathon 2025, one of the world’s premier long-distance races, will be held on Sunday, March 2. As part of the Abbott World Marathon Majors Series XVII, it also serves as a selection race for the Japan Marathon Championship Series G1 and the Japanese national team for the 2025 World Athletics Championships. This prestigious event attracts elite runners, wheelchair athletes, and marathon enthusiasts from around the world, offering an iconic course through Tokyo’s landmarks, including the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, Asakusa, Ginza, and finishing near Tokyo Station.

Wheelchair Marathon: 9:05 AM – 11:15 AM (2 hours 10 minutes)
Marathon: 9:10 AM – 4:10 PM (7 hours)
10.7 km Race: 9:10 AM – 11:10 AM (2 hours)
10.7 km Wheelchair Race: 9:05 AM – 9:45 AM (40 minutes)

Location

Starting Point: Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building
Finish Line: Gyoko-dori Avenue, near Tokyo Station
Course: Through iconic spots such as Suidobashi, Ueno, Kanda, Nihombashi, Asakusa Kaminarimon, Ryogoku, Monzen-nakacho, Ginza, Tamachi, and Hibiya.

Marathon: ¥16,500 (Domestic), $160 (International)
10.7 km Race: ¥5,600 (Domestic), $60 (International)
